Challenge: Light and Motion, a Monterey Bay-based high end consumer bike light company, asked our group to deliver a viable base design for their next generation of bike lights.

Result: CAD models and additive manufactured prototypes for Light and Motion.

Process: Extensive benchmarking for state of art, Solidworks CAD modeling, user testing.

Skills: Solidworks CAD modeling, Stress Analysis, Rapid Prototyping

Project Description

Our team started by benchmarking current bicycle light designs to orient ourselves within our design space. We maintained constant communication with our Light and Motion liaison to ensure that our work was in line with the project vision. Due to the injection motion process that Light and Motion used at the time for their bike lights, our prototype development cycle consisted primarily of designing and testing additively manufactured mounts.
